I'd appreciate it if there were more as I've only played three games and have seen them all, multiple times but it's not the worst thing. It's nice to see it come to life and the kill animations are pretty funny. Otherwise, I'd recommend this to anyone who likes chess. I was playing as the black team and stupidly allowed the bishop to take my queen, because I thought that him being all black signified that he was on my team. Sometimes two tracks end up playing over eachother and given that this is a game that is strategy oriented, it's a major drawback.Īnother glitch that I encountered (at least I think it's a glitch, if this isn't then it's pretty poor game design) is that character models can just go all black sometimes. It's not that there is anything wrong with the music itself, more that the music is rather loud and conflicts with the ingame sound effects. The music does my nut in and I'd highly recommend turning it down before playing.

The game also is bound to crash, after changing any of the options, so expect that to happen. I've had it constantly crash on me, not even with an error message, just minimizing and dying for no reason. You can download SparkChess for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android phones and tablets. While I do recommend this, I must warn that this game has quite a few problems. SparkChess has won many awards and it was featured by Google, Blackberry and Adobe for its cross-platform capabilities. Your online games are synced in the cloud across your devices, so you can track your progress and replay old games wherever you are. You can chat with your opponents (and block/report abusive ones). If you don't feel like playing, you can now just watch live games as they unfold. The multiplayer service is child-friendly.

You can filter out opponents based on different criteria. With the multiplayer feature, you can put your skills to the test against other players like you! You can create an account or play as guest. There are 4 different board styles (a 2D diagram, two fixed 3D designs and a 3D rotatable board) to suit any style - from the playful kid to the serious tournament player. Our online chess game also features an opening database created by analysing 145,000 games from international tournaments. With 5 levels of difficulty and a behavior modeled to make human mistakes, this is a very fun game to play. SparkChess is an excellent way to get better at chess - learn the proper rules (including the elusive en-passant), practice openings, test strategies, use the board editor to recreate famous positions with FEN strings, replay famous games, import/export PGN games and databases (with comments and annotations) and let the computer help you.

SparkChess is a free online chess game that allows you to practice chess against the computer and to engage in multiplayer online challenges, or to just watch others play.
